Dr. Alvin Bannerjee
Dr. Bannerjee completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Hospital. There he received extensive training in podiatric medicine and surgery, trauma, limb salvage and reconstructive surgery. He specializes in foot and ankle trauma and sports medicine through conservative and surgical methods. He earned his bachelor’s degree at University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Baltimore, Maryland and earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bannerjee is an Associate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the District of Columbia Podiatric Medical Association.
He has had previous appointments as a wound care specialist and a liaison director for podiatric surgery residents from Medstar Washington Hospital Center at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He is currently on the medical staff at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and Medstar Lafayette Surgery Center.
Dr. Bannerjee is native to the area and grew up in Columbia, Maryland. He is the father to two young very energetic kids. In his spare time, Dr. Bannerjee enjoys running, biking, hiking, and traveling to new areas with his family.
