Dedicated to Excellence in Foot & Ankle Care
Dr. Maryellen Waltz
Dr. Maryellen Waltz was born and raised in the Charlottesville area.
After completion of her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in 2004, she continued her education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Waltz successfully completed a three year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR-RRA) in Buffalo, NY where she served as Chief Resident.
As a former educator, it is a personal goal of Dr. Waltz to educate her patients in preventative care, as well as conditions and disorders of the foot and ankle. She is a believer in conservative methods of treatment before surgical correction of most conditions of the foot and ankle. Her three year surgical training allows her to bring her knowledge of podiatric medicine and surgery, as well as wound care to the area.
Dr. Maryellen Waltz earned board certification by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) in 2018. She is a member of the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association (VPMA) and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), as well as The American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine (ACFAOM).
Particular areas of interest include wound care, fracture care, foot and ankle sports medicine, and special needs podiatric care.
